What's a "wall" adapter? You can connect your iPod to the wall?

Follow these reset instructions:

0. Make sure the Hold switch is off.
1. Lay your iPod down on your computer desk.
2. Connect your iPod to your computer (if it's not already).
3. Use your pointer finger from your left hand, and press down on the Menu button.
4. Wait a few seconds.
5. Use your pointer finger from your other hand, and press down on the Select button.
6. Hold them down together until the Apple logo appears.

Yes! Back in the day, a long long time ago, they actually shipped a wall adapter -- you plug it into like a regular old outlet! the kind witih two prongs!

now they don't ship that anymore -- you have to buy a shiny white one for like $40. Just to take your ipod with you when you don't ahve a computer.

anyway -- i was reading this thread beause i had a similar problem; all of a sudden my ipod wouldn't turn on. i fixed it, but i wonder waht caused it to shut off. Could it have been a faulty car charger?
