Q: I have photos on an SD card.  when I plug iCard reader into ipd3 it says no photos found.  I was able to import some photos at first but not now.  What gives?

I have photos on a 4g SD card.  When I plug iCard reader int iPad it says : No photos found.  I had used this method to a few pics on iPad when I first got it, but it doesn't  work now.  What gives?

    How did the photos get onto the card ? If you copied them onto it from your computer then you need to create a DCIM directory off the root of the card, with the photos underneath it, and the photo filenames need to be exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension i.e. in a similar format as if a camera had created/written them

    Is the a program that renames the photos?  Or do I have to manually rename each one!!?  The first photos were from a Fuji camera.  I just successfully dwindled some from my new Sony DSLR and it worked!!  Thanks for the help.

    There are programs available, both for Macs and PCs. If they have come straight from your camera then they should, in theory, already have 8 character names - or did you rename them when importing them to your computer prior to adding them back onto a card ?
