How do I turn off this message that shows up every time I open Chrome? “Google Chrome” is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?

Do you get this everytime you open chrome or are you using that as an example of what pops up when you open a downloaded program for the first time?
Every time I open Chrome. Chrome was restored after I had my hard drive replaced. I never got that message before. Does that help come up with an answer? I wonder if i should uninstall and then install Chrome again?

Yes Uninstall, Reinstall.
Shouldn't need to uninstall/reinstall
In Terminal
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine
leave a space and drag in Chrome.app
and hit return.
Didn't work.
I got this message:
xattr: [Errno 13] Permission denied: '/Applications/Google Chrome.app'
I'll try to uninstall and reinstall and see what happens.
Did the uninstall and install. I got the message the first time I opened
Chrome, but no message after the first time.

Glad that worked, as it should. And yes for any App that is not downloaded through the Mac App Store you will get that warning the First Time it is run. From then on you should not get that Pop Up.

Thanks, the following command (ran as root) worked for me!
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Google\ Chrome.app
Chrome is set to start on launch, so I'd get the following warning on every start/restart
Google Chrome” is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?
