How do I update my version of Mac OS X to a new version that will be compatible with the new version of itunes and that will work with the iOS 6 of my iphone 4?

You need to install a retail Mac OS X 10.5 or 10.6 DVD; if you don't have either, skip 10.5 and buy 10.6 from the online Apple Store.
