WiFi problem with my iPod Touch 5

My iPod Touch 5 works perfectly with my WiFi at home (802.11b/g/n and WPA/WPA2 Personal) but when using my BlackBerry as a WiFi Hotspot (802.11g and WPA/WPA2 Personal) it doesn't work? I can only get it to work if I don't have any security... anyone know why?

iPod touch, iOS 6.0.1, 5th Gen, 32GB, Black

Do other devices connect to your BB?

Try:

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Power off and then back on the router

- Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings

- iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections

- iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points

- Restore from backup. See:

iOS: How to back up

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

WiFi Hotspot works with both my other BB and my work laptop.

I've tried:

- Reset the iOS device

- Power off/on the router (Can't really power off the router since it's a smartphone but I turned off WiFi Hotspot then back on and also rebooted my BB.)

- Reset network settings.

- Went thru Troubleshooting + Recommended settings.

None of it worked.

I also tried using my laptop as a Hotspot, I don't know which 802.11 it has but security is WPA2-PSK/AES, didn't work either. Both iPod and BB connected but no network so might be the laptop.

After reading the troubleshooting, it looks like an encryption issue. It's weird that it works with my WiFi at home tho since it uses encryption.

I haven't done Restore from BackUp because it only says "...photos and video in the Camera Roll" What about the rest of the pics? Do they disapear?

Haven't done restore to factory settings either... does anything other than settings disapear?

I guess I'll just have to live with no security when I need WiFi on the go. 😐

New iPod Touch 5th Generation 2.4 GHZ WiFi SLOW like iPhone 5

When I obtained an iPhone 5 a few months ago I noticed that it was VERY slow on the 2.4 GHZ channel of certain routers. I was AMAZED at the THOUSANDS of threads on this topic, that continue to pour in even today since the iPhone 5 has been out. I thought the iPhone 5 issue was solved with the first update but after rechecking with the new Linksys EA6500 it is still slow to zero on 2.4 GHZ. I've noted no problem with Airport Extreme and some public WiFi spots. Right now I use it only on 5 GHZ with our EA6500 since it works fine on this channel with this particular router.

We recently obtained a new iPod Touch 5th generation, and experienced the same issue...SLOW to zero speed on the 2.4 GHZ EA6500 channel. Speed Test is redicuously slow. It also works fine on 5 GHZ. Software update has not helped. OS 6.1 is still the same.

There seems to be some kind of incompatibility with these newest Apple products and certain routers on the 2.4 GHZ signal. I wonder if it is a hardware problem given the thousands of complaints for the iPhone 5. I would hate to see a "recall" which would kill Apple stock! Hopefully next generation devices will correct this.
