Iphone 5 backup HELP!

Ok I have had my iPhone 5 for less than a month now and I can't get it to backup (manually or auto) to iCloud. I have read the forums and tried other suggested techniques sucha s managing my apps and shutting them all off to find a rogue app that is corrupt to doing a hard shut down (home and power button at same time). I have deleted my old backup from my previous phone to see if it was that. No matter what I do I can't get my phone to backup to iCloud.
