MacBook cannot connect wirelessly to wifi in Canada

I purchased a new Hitron Technologies CGN2-ROG modem/router. My ISP is Rogers. My iPhones and iPad connect wirelessly just fine. My MacBook connects when I'm wired. When wireless the MacBook shows that I'm connected but I cannot get online. Spent an hour with Rogers tech support who could not solve the problem. They ultimately gave up and told me to contact Apple. Can anyone help me out?
