Mac Mini - Only Boots to Gray Screen

I have a Mac Mini (Late 2010) running OS X Lion that boots to a Gray screen and does nothing else.. I have tried the steps in http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2570 but they do not help. I am NOT able to get into the Boot Menu by holding down the Option key at startup, or any other of the startup shortcuts listed in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1343

I have tried removing / swapping memory but that doesn't seem to help either. I have also removed the hard drive and that doesn't help. I've tried both a bootable USB drive and a USB SuperDrive but that doesn't help either.

Does anyone have any suggestions, other than going to my local Apple Store, which is over an hour away?

Are you using a USB keyboard ?

Yes, I'm using an Apple USB Keyboard. I have tried the keyboard in other USB ports and the keyboard was working fine before. I have no Ethernet connected. Just power, video and the USB Keyboard. I also tried it without the keyboard and have tried both video ports (HDMI and Display Port) with the same results.

I tried following those steps but when I plug the Mac Mini back in it automatically turns on. I pressed the power button any way after 5 seconds and all I have is the gray screen still.

I would take to Apple store it should not turn on automatically
