Hey, I have a suggestion for you. Sence your mac is an older mottle, this trick might work for you to reset your firmware password, and regain access to your computer. If you aren't sure how to work inside your mac's case, I totally understand, and you should go to an apple store and have them unlock it for you. But if you're okay with opening your mac's case and doing some work, you might be in luck. What you need to do is change the amount of ram that's in your computer. If your computer has 2 memory slots, and both memory slots have a ram chip in it, what you should try is to remove the ram chip in the top memory slot, but leave the one in the bottom one alone, your computer won't function without memory. After you have removed the ram from the top memory slot, press and hold the command, option, p, and r keys, then turn on your computer, but continue to hold those for keys. Wait until the startup chime sounds 4 times before your release the keys, you should be good to go. Now you can reinstall the memory chip you removed from the top memory slot. If you have any questions or anything, please let me know. Hope this helped you.

Hey, yes, I am aware that macbook air's ram is soddered to the motherboard. I'm very sorry. I thought you had a macbook air from like 2008 or 2009, and back then those macs may have had removible memory chips. Sence your memory is soddered to your mac's motherboard, your best bet is to take your mac to an apple store, or an apple authorized service provider. you might have luck if you google the macbook air firmware password reset usb tool. You can buy it I think for $25. If not, I suggest you have someone at apple unlock it for you. I understand that having your mac locked with a firmware password can be a frustrating problem, you'd think they would allow you to reset your firmware password using your apple ID, Write? I don't understand why apple doesn't let you do that. I'm sorry I couldn't help you do this yourself, I've had the same problem too. Try calling apple and ask them, and good luck.
