why wont my 16gb ipod touch synch to itunes 11

my ipod touch 16 gb will not synch to my itunes 11 i worked on the older version , but then when i connected it to the computer it downloaded a newer version tried to synch my library, it says its synching but disconnect and it says no content . *** i never had a problem with the other version ive tried factory reset, restore itunes , re installing itunes everything i just want it to work. someone help please its frustrating.
