imac g5 connecting to a sony handycam

I have an imac g5 and just got a Sony handycam - HDR-CX260 and am wondering how to connect the camcorder to the computer for data transfer. There was an HDMI cord with the camcorder but there is no slot on the back of the computer for it. I know it's an old machine but still would like to try.
