I have setup homesharing in itunes 10.6 and am able to see my other library but when i try to follow the instructions to import some songs from my other library I am not provided with the settings or import option.
Can anyone advise why this might be?

Did you use the same Apple ID and password when setting up home Sharing on both machines.

For anyone else reading this - I just went in to the advanced menu and turned off home sharing. Then I went back in and turned it back on - I chose the user/pass of another one of my computers, then clicked into that library - and the buttons I needed were immediately there.
In itunes 11 the Menu is
File > Home Sharing > Create home share
Suggest you turn off home share on both machines and recreat the home share using the same Apple ID and password on both machines

I tried your suggestions and I still can not get the import button to be accessible. It's there, but it is grayed out. Does it matter that my older iTunes has 10.6.3 and my new computer has 11.0.2?
I am so frustrated - it should not be this hard!
