Cannot Sync iTunes to Outlook 2013

Hi,

Just done a fresh install of Windows 7, Outlook 2013 and iTunes. Now I cannot sync the contacts and calendar etc.

It used to work fine in Outlook 2010....

Has anyone found a fix for this please?

Thanks

I can only say that the Apple Genius' are completely ignorant. I called and asked about this same question and they sent me a link showing me how to plug in a USB cable. This is a serious question, and I get bozo the clown who has obviously never operated anything but an APPLE computer. This is why I will never convert to Apple, these guys are too stupid to know how to do anything but plug in a cable; any they call those guys genius'. By the way, I will figure this problem out as I have built dozens of computers and solved much more complicated issues than this, sometimes with help. Last week I had a woman from the Philippines help me with a Microsoft issue for three hours. Apple I get put on hold for a half hour, hung up on twice, and an email showing me how to plug in a USB Cable? Tell me, tell me how Apple is a better product?

Hi BodyCop,

I have noticed in the itunes, under the info tab when ai sync the phone that there are two 'folders' as below. These are actually my contacts and calendar info!!

I guess should read business & personal as that it how I have labelled them in Outlook 2013.

In any event, if you check them, they sync across and contacts & calendar are updated.

Hope this helps?

I ran into a similar issue. For how managed resolve the Outlook 2013 synchronization issue see the discussion thread at:

iTunes compatibility with Outlook 2013

OK, I believe I have resolved the iTunes and Outlook 2013 issue (for me at least) -- here is what happened:

When I installed Office 2013 I had a Google and Hotmail account setup, in addition to my local PST folder. I had no email account associated with my "local" PST file. I used the local PST file to store my Contacts, Calendar, and Notes items. In my email configuration settings I had specified the Google email account as my primary/default account. When I uninstalled Office 2010 and then installed Office 2013, my Google OST file was set as the default data file (instead of the local PST file). Once I changed my default data file to the local PST file and restarted iTunes my Contacts, Calendar, and Notes items synced successfully.

To set your default DATA FILE in Outlook 2013:

File > Account Settings > Account Settings... > Data Files tab > select (highlight) the desired data file, click on the 'Set as Default' menu button.

I hope this helps other people.

Thank you -- Cameron
