Apple TVWelcome to the Apple Community.
Assuming this is not the first time you have used your Apple TV
1. You might try restarting the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
2. Also try restarting the router.
3. If the problem persists, try a restore, you may want to try the previous procedures several times before doing this.
If this is a new Apple TV, it may also be that your network router is not allowing access to the timeserver, check that your router allows access over port 123.

Feb 3, 2013 4:02 AM in response to Hannah221Beeby OrrenBoyle,I think the first step in troubleshooting this issue should be to open iTunes on your computer (or iPad or other device) and see if you can connect to the Apple Store. I had followed all of Winston's suggestions (which are certainly valid ones), but as an IT pro I've found that it's always important to isolate the problem first. I was running in circles until I tried viewing my videos on the computer and realized I couldn't connect to the store. That made it clear that my Apple TV wasn't the problem.
