My laptop screen has come loose on one side. I think that it is a screw loose. Is there something I can do from home or should I just take it into the Apple store.

If under warranty, a Store visit is mandatory. The down side is whether they can do the repair in-house or have to ship out and take ages. After all, once the bottom lid is out, it is merely tightening three screws on each side. If warranty has passed, might want to take a crack at it.
