Is there a way to turn off my 6th gen. iPod nano without using the sleep/wake button?

Well, like many other owners of the 6th Generation iPod nano, my sleep/wake button has broken. I don't want to go through all the trouble of taking it apart - i'm afraid of breaking something important and I probably don't have the right tools to do so. I do have a pair of headphones that can control the song playing and such, which is very nice. But, i'm curious as to whether or not I can turn off my iPod without using the sleep/wake button. Is there a way to do so with the headphones? Or in the settings?
