Why does my AirPort has the self-assigned IP address 169.xxx.x.x and will not be able to connect to the Internet?
Typically this happens when the AirPort was not able to negotiate with the Internet modem that it is connected to in order to receive the proper IP addresses to gain Internet access. One option is to perform a complete power recycle of your networking equipment to resolve this.
