How do you move a pdf on the iMac (OS X 10.8.2) to an iPad (orginal version)?

iMac (21.5-inch Late 2009), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.2)

No, nothing other than iBooks that came with the iPad. That seems to work ok. I had forgotten how to move the pdfs from the iMac over to the ipad after updating (upgrading?) iMac to Mt. Lion. Things changed (look different) but looks like I still need to put pdf's in iTunes then sync over to iBooks in iPad.

Not sure what Dropbox (mentioned by "sig") is although I have heard of that.

I've tried to move pdf files from a MacBook Pro to an iPad2 by using the suggestions in an Apple article, "iOS: About File Sharing," http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4094

However, when one gets to the part that says, "Click the Add… button, locate the file or files you want to copy from your computer, and click Choose. The selected files will be copied to the app on your iOS device immediately,"

that's where the suggestion and reality part ways. The files do NOT, in fact, transfer immediately and never.

Any suggestions, please?

Thank you,

Jay

Move pdf from imac to iPad, follow the steps:

1.Make sure you have the iBooks app installed on your iPad.

2.Open iTunes on your computer.

3.In the iTunes library, click on Books.

4.Make sure you can see your PDF via a file browser (such as Finder on Mac) or as an icon on the desktop.

5.Drag and drop the PDF into your iTunes Book library.

6.Plug your iPad into your computer and then select it in the Devices menu on iTunes.

7.Click on the Books tab within iTunes (in the bar across the top of the main frame).

8.Check the Sync Books checkbox, if it isn't already enabled.

9.Click the Apply button.
