Trouble syncing music on iphone 5 with itunes 11

Recently downloaded Itunes 11 and can't seem to sync any of my music onto my phone now. In Itunes it says the songs are supposedly on the Iphone but I can't click on any of them to play and they all have a dotted circle next to them? I have NO idea whats going on i've tried manually syncing them which also hasnt worked. It goes to sync does about 5 things, the blue audio bar comes up saying its synced and then literally 2 seconds later it disappears off the bottom bar again. Anyone else having problems? And does anyone have a solution before i cry!! 😟
