My iPhone 5 charger won't charge

I've only had my iPhone 5 for about a month, a bout a week or two or go, my charger was being weird and would only charge a bit before stopping and continuing with the same problem, today I went to charge my phone and it just all together wouldn't work. What do I do? I can't afford a new charger cause I'm broke. What's the point in paying every month if it won't even work? Please help!
