I have an hotmail email address, how do I stop messages from being deleted automatically on my ipad please?

I have an hotmail email address, how do I stop emails from being deleted in my inbox. I want to keep some for information always.

Hope you can help.

Look at the settings for your mail. There's a setting for how many days worth of mail to sync, the default is three. Mail older than 3 days won't show in Mail, but should still be there if you sign in to outlook.com on a web browser.
