Jan 15, 2013 8:55 AM in response to convictnlvby Niel,That means you need to provide the computer's firmware password and press Enter. If you don't know that password, ask the person you got the computer from for it or contact Apple.

Jan 15, 2013 9:00 AM in response to Nielby convictnlv,I just bought it from the Apple Store. I just spoke to my daughters friend and he can't remember how you spell the password. So now my best bet would be to take it back to the store I got it from? There's no other way around it?

Jan 15, 2013 9:04 AM in response to convictnlvby Niel,Take it there or phone them and ask; as this information could potentially be used to help thieves break into systems they've stolen, it hopefully won't get posted here.

Jan 15, 2013 10:07 AM in response to convictnlvby Niel,That's for the same reason you got the lock: A firmware password is set on the computer. Contact Apple and stop expecting to get any further assistance with that specific issue on these boards.
