Using 9 Apple TVs with 9 iPads - airplay bandwidth

Here's the setup:

9 HDTV monitors connected to 9 Apple TVs.

Client wants to be able to mirror iPad web/app content on each TV

More than likely they'll not all be going simultaneously, but the possibility is there.

Wondering how many airport extreme base stations would i need in theory to support the necessary bandwith.

Not even sure if I'm asking the correct question, but I think I am.

The internet drop will be fast enough for the basic web content they'll be accessing. More concerned with the data over the network for the mirroring/Airplay

Thank you for your help!

Completely agree with Erasmix. The AppleTV's need to be on eithernet (Wired). Streaming video is always problematic over WiFi. Even if it works today it is going to be problematic over the long run. Which is not going to be tolerated well in a business. Also be aware that there are two wireless connections per device. The iPad to the rounter and then the router to the ATV. So you are talking about 18 WiFi conecctions maxed out running streaming video. Having the ATV's using wired connections cuts that bandwidth in half.

Just getting a bunch of wireless hubs (airport's) is not going to work either. There is no want to control which uses end up on which hub(s). So you could end up with say 7 people on one hub and one on another, and the rest un-used. So users would experiance some times it works, and sometimes it does not. As well as it works well for one or two poeople but not others.

So your best bet would be to have the AppleTV's all on either net and get maybe two comerical grade wireless hot spots (These will be in the $300 - $1200) using gigabit eithernet from those hot spots out to the hub/router that will connect them to the nine ATV's

hardwire is the best solution. We've rolled out a test base of 20 or so aTV on our campus (Aruba enterprise accesspoints) and it works. but it does get congested. We are moving to hard wire the aTVs and use an mDNS router to "bridge" the wireless gap and localized resources to users vicinity. ie teacher in classroom

You can do it alot easier (and cheaper) with an airport extreme and a small switch.
