Could power surges fry my Macbook charger?

I had my Macbook at work and plugged in when the power went out. Now that the power has been restored, my charger isn't charging my Macbook. I have tried every outlet and every trick I have done in the past when the charger didn't seem to work, but nothing has done the trick.

Is it possible the power outage fried my ch

MacBook

I wouldn't mess too much with the charger!

This could be a fault in the charger itself, try a friends or another persons charger and see if the problem is resolved, if so, waste no time in saving for a new charger from Apple.

If someone else's charges brings the same problem then it'll be your battery or related connectors within the MacBook which is an even bigger hassle, maybe try taking the MacBook into Apple if this is the case.

Hope this helps!
