Bookmarks in Safari

I am trying to sync bookmnalrs across an iMac and my IOS devices. For some reason my iMAc has hundreds of bookmarks titled Finacial Highlight with nothin in them. I unable to delete them on mass and it takes over a minute to delete one. I have restored an old version of boomarks.plist from my Time Capsule which clears the problem for only the bookmarks to reappear moment later.

Has anyone any experience of this problem.
