2012 iMac 27" Upgraded RAM, incorrect speed.
I recieved the iMac with the minimium RAM, because lets be honest, I would have to be silly to pay their prices.
Tonight I went ahead and opened it up to install the shiny new RAM I got. (Corsair 8GBx2 DDR3 1600MHz) The install was simple, and I must say I loved the craftmenship of the rear door and the whole assembly as a whole. I can tell where my money went.
Onward with the story, I fired up the machine, and low and behold it is reporting ALL of my memory as 1333 HMz.
It works, and it uses all 24GB of avaliable memory, but its not really the correct speed.
Now, I dont know a TON about memory, but I can match number and MHz like any other idiot out there.
Is it because I am running some of the OEM RAM as well as aftermarket?
If anyone needs more info from me to help out, just lemme know.
Thanks everyone!😀
