I have an 11" MacBook Air purchaed new from Apple Online in November 2012.

Today the MBA won't turn on. I left it sitting on my desk overnight plugged in to the original charger to have a full battery in the morning. This morning it would not turn on at all. Tried holding down the power key for an extended time, no result. The green light on the charger glows when it's plugged into the MBA.

I went to the Apple support page and followed the instructions, i.e., "PRAM" & "SMC" (Command-Option-P-R, until you hear the startup chime --and-- "Press (left) Shift-Control-Option along with the power button once)

... but still no result at all.

I have taken extreme care to not add any 3rd party Apps or software. I use this laptop almost entirely with Office software only and Apple Mail / Safari browser specifically so that I never have issues with conflicting software. When I put this MBA into service I didn't even do a Restore from my previoius MBA with the idea of keeping it as innoculated as possible from any 'legacy' issues (whether real or imagined).

To dmachine:

1. I did try powering on with the adapter both short pressing to the on/off button and holding it down for 20 + seconds. No response at all. Just as if the battery must have been dead.

2. The same goes when I have it plugged in. The mag-safe connection to the MBA glows steady green when I plug it in so I know it's getting power. I had left in plugged in over night. I tried leaving it plugged in again for a few hours today.

To Sig:

I created multiple posts because there are different knowledgeable people on different threads. So with all due respect to your suggestion "to please post only once" I'm trying to get help from anyone that can.

Also I see that there are many posts from owners of MBAs as well as MB Pros and I want to add my issue in the case that this is a hardware or software issue. My MBA is not two months old, has not been near liquids of any kind and does not have any 3rd party software. This should not be happening esp. after trying DMC / pRam.

Sorry but that is inappropriate in these discussions. Posting once gets you attention from everyone. Post multiple times gets you to be a troll. You multiple posts can be reported as Duplicate Posts and removed. So please adhere to forum guidlines.

I humbly accept the moniker of "Troll" (after all, I'm just a guy quite loyal to the Apple brand trying to get a problem solved. If that makes me a "Troll" I realize I must dutifully accept that title).

If it improves this board and furthers any cause please do report my "Duplicate Posts" and let them be "removed" without further delay as like many others, I'm sure, I have no wish whatsoever to degrade these discussions.

I'll pause now and read the forum guidelines and improve my behavior with no further loss of time while extending my sincerest apologies for having caused you to lose your time that, I can see because the the long list of problems you have solved for others on these Discussions, is valuable.

Humbly and contritely,

NusaDua

Mmejom, Try things in CMCSK's link above in a previous post. You also have a 1 year warranty on your machine that will be up in Nov. 2013. So you can take it to an Apple Store or fedex it to Apple Repair for servicing.

You might want to consider purchasing Apple Care which would extend the warranty till Nov. 2015 since you are already having issues.
