Q: multi airports for music

Hi

I currently have an older airport express with speakers plugging into it which I send music to from iTunes.

I want to have some speakers in another room also. Can I have two airport expresses and send music to both simultaneously? If so I am confused how to do this as wouldn't they be different networks? Or do I somehow make them the same network? If so how?

Thanks

Yes. To accomplish this they must both be connected to the same network. Just give each of them their own unique iTunes Speaker names.

To send music to both, select Multiple Speakers in iTunes. Click one of the icons on the lower right of the iTunes window to select Multiple Speakers.

But can you please explain how to connect to the same network or include a link to some info that shows me how step by step as I have no idea.

This should get you started: Wi-Fi base stations: How to set up and configure AirPort Express for AirPlay and iTunes

If you can configure one Express to join a wireless network, you can configure another the same way. The only requirement is that they must both be within that network's wireless range.

Use AirPort Utility to configure the Express. It is in your Mac's Utilities folder, or you can download the AirPort Utility app for an iPad or iPhone. It's free.

When you get to the question regarding how you want them to connect, choose "Wireless Network" and choose your wireless network from the dropdown menu. Enter your network's password when required. That's all there is to it. If you get stuck, please let me know where.
