iPad not charging

Hi

Can anyone tell me if my iPad is faulty, it doesn't seem to be charging. It displays the symbol not charging in the top right hand corner. I don't think it is the charger itself because I use to charge other apple products. The iPad is only 6mths old so surely it can't be faulty?
