Macbook Pro Retina Yellow Tint

I got my macbook pro retina last week. I had compared with my macbook pro (mid 2010). Then the result is Macbook Pro Retina got yellow tint. I have got some research, Samsung monitors are got the yellow tint. Also, I had compared in apple store, their LG monitors are whiter than Samsung monitors. Should I need to replace it? I have uploaded 3 photo for reference.

Try going to System Preferences / Displays / Color and making sure that Color LCD is selected as the Display Profile. If it is and the problem persists, you may have to opt for the return. Remember you have 14 days for a no-questions-asked return, so don't dawdle too long.

It may be a generic issue with that type of display, and hence unavoidable. Maybe some pro photographer can chip in this discussion for more details, but AFAIK, with the appropriate gear you can calibrate the screen and generate a custom profile that may be able to compensate and overcome the tint.

I have the Samsung screen, LG replaced. After calibration with Spyder3Pro results are better but I wasn’t satisfied. The best results I got after that with manual calibration (I do Web design primarilly), but still not good enough, IMHO.

LG had almost perfect colors. Not sure what to do…

After a ton of trials with manual calibration (I had to crank it up above 7500K), I managed to reduce the yellow tint by at least 85% percent and now I’m pretty satisfied.

My advice: keep calibrating (or buy a first class calibrator which probably isn’t below $1000).

So your display was yellow when you bought it? My belief was that the yellow Samsung displays were only used as replacements. What did you do about your display? Did you return it? Did you visit the Genius Bar? I'm on my third display. The first one developed white spots. The second one was yellow. And now this third one is yellow. If my first display had been yellow I would have returned it.

I have a mid-2012 rMBP that had an LG screen and the image retention (IR) was so bad I took it in for replacement under AppleCare. It was replaced with a Samsung and yes I may some yellow tint but not so much that it matters. My main concern was the IR which has not reappeared since the replacement 5 months ago.
