Cannot send emails any longer

Half way thru sending emails my system stopped sending. Every time I hit the SEND icon a box pops saying "Cannot send message using server talktalk.net" I have checked with talktalk and the account is still active. I have also deleted and re-installed the account but the same thing happens. Any ideas?
