Why is my iTunes page not updating?

For over 160 episodes everything has gone smoothly.

We use Podbean to host. (RSS Feed: http://niceman.podbean.com/feed/)

For some reason, our newest episode (Episode 130) is not updating onto iTunes. This has never been an issue before. Does anyone know what's going on?

Check your source feed that Feedburner is pointing at - if it is ove 512 kb in size feedburner will stop updating.

It is a "feature" of feedburner - source feeds can not be greater than 512 kb in size - and no - there is no error message from feedburner when this happens - simply it just stops updating.

One thing you could do if Podbean allows it - is to limit your feed to the last 100 episodes - or if they have the option - strip out all the HTML code from the source feed - that last option really reduces the size of the source feed allowing all your older episodes to stay live. Not sure if Podbean has that option however.

You would need to get the original feed down to below 512kB first, then add the 'itunes:new-feed-url' tag to it with the original feed address, so that it appears in the Feedburner feed, unless FB allows you to do this directly.

The full method is described here:

or you could just try emailing podcasts 'at' apple.com and asking them to move it - they may well do so and it would be simpler.

DO NOT repeat DO NOT swap out to the podbean feed. If you use the Podbean feed in iTunes and then decide later on to leave podbean you are SOL. They will not help you at all in switching your feed to a new host.

Stay with the feedburner feed - and just go in and modify the source feed to be smaller in size.

But again whatever you do do not switch to the podbean feed - you will regret it greatly in the future.
