BRAND NEW Macbook Pro freezing

I have a BRAND NEW 3 day old macbook pro 13" laptop. Today, it has started freezing. The curser won't move and the keyboard doesn't respond.

I have to shut it down manually and restart. Which I'm sure can't be good at all.

I'm crap with technology. We are not friends.

If someone has suggestions on what to do can you describe it to me as you would a 3 year old.

Thanks so much!

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

here is a probale solution

Here's the link with instructions: http://thenextweb.com/google/2011/06/24/chrome-for-mac-crashing-on-you-you-arent -the-only-one/

1- choose Finder application
2- on the main menu go to Go -> Go to Folder
3- Paste: ~/Library/Application Support/Google/Chrome/
4- Delete the "Default" folder
5- Open Google Chrome and another Default folder will be created.

That is it.

Yep, it is chrome causing this. There`s another thread that discusses something about chrome causing a kernel panic. Look for that if the above doesn`t solve your problem.

I have a question for you... You said brand new but then you asked if it could be Chrome... Sounds like you installed Chrome in that case was it working OK prior to installing Chrome? If you don't have any data on it yet or if you have a backup wouldn't hurt to perform an erase and install from Internet Recovery just be sure to Accept the free apps from the App Store first so they can be added to your AppleID and reinstalled later.
