Well my experience is it is pretty easy to virtualize. It is as responsive to run like any other big software package. It does means you are limited to running your mail through another OS on the VM- this just not seem so convenient to me, doable yes. I will mention the cost of continually having to upgrade the VM software, it seems almost a yearly expense with each new OS X that comes out.
I would like to take a moment to encourage you to move forward.Eudora is long past being supported or upgraded. The technology and software is always on the move. You will breath a sigh of relief to leave the dinosaur behind and stay current. As some point the transition software for moving Eudora will not be avalable as well, as already it is harder to track down.
I was a dedicated Eudora user for some 11 or 12 years and struggled mightily with the idea as to what to do.
I looked at many, many mail client alternatives, and I have also run ParallesDesktop for years.
Once I distilled it down to Mac Mail as the best alternative out there for me, and then sorted through the transition process with the dry run attempts, I have never looked back, not one time. I still have a boot clone with my entire SnowLeopard OS/Eudora intact on an ex HD. Never once in three years have I had to resort to firing it up.
It is such a relief to have made the decision to move forward, knowing that with each Mac OS upgrade it is a seamless and painless process from here forward. It does not pay to get too far behind.
