Solid amber is unfortunately almost always a sign that an internal electronic component on the Expess has failed.
As a last resort, try a Factory Default Reset as follows:
Power off the Express
Hold in the reset button first, and keep holding it in for an additional 9-10 seconds while you simultaneously plug the Express back in to power
Release the reset button after the hold period and allow a full minute for the Express to restart
At this point, you need to see a slow, blinking amber light, indicating that the Express has been reset and it can now be reconfigured.
If you try the Factory Default Reset a few times with the same solid amber result, the Express is defective, and will need to be replaced.
If you are handy with small tools and have the time, carefully saw open the Express along the center seam of the case and look for something obvious, like a broken connector or broken solder joint. Do this basically for fun.....not as a realistic expectation that this will repair the device.
