I just upgraded to Snow Leopard and cannot access my printers. I have tried multiple suggestions from the internet, but none have worked...HELP!

Care to share which ones you tried?

I will try to be clear, but i am so panicked at this point I hope I remember correctly.

First, I have an HP Laserjet 5000n and an Epson Photo 2200.

All that was available for me was an Adobe PDF 9.0 and my Epson. The Adobe PDF looked like my HP, but nothing I did weith the settings would do anything but distill files.

SOOOO, here is what I tried.

I did a Safe Boot and dumped my hp folder from somewhere (I am forgetting how it said to access it)

I used Software Update and it said it was updating the printer software so I thought I had it...NOPE.

In the Systems Preferences>Print Fax window. They said to control-click to get rid of the printers that were there and then use "+" to add the printers. I control-clicked and successfully got rid of the printers that were there, but but now the only one available is Adobe PDF 9.0. Even my Epson is now gone.

I ran Disk Utility and updated permissions. All clear, but no printers still.

Double checked Software Update again. Still all updated...

I also restarted after each item that said to restart.

    Any ideas?

According to your system profile, you did not update far enough - (10.6.3).  Use Software Update to update your os to 10.6.8 and anything else that needs to be updated.  You can also update your os by installing Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1

    After doing the above -

Disconnect all peripherals from your computer.

Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.

    Select your language.

Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.

    Select Disk Utility.

Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.

    Click Repair Disk.

    Restart your computer when done.

Repair permissions after you reach the desktop-http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2963 and restart your computer.

Now, regarding your printer issues -

I did a Safe Boot and dumped my hp folder from somewhere (I am forgetting how it said to access it)

I hope your "drivers" were not inside the file that you trashed.

I used Software Update and it said it was updating the printer software so I thought I had it...NOPE.

Did you repair permissions afterwards as well as restarted your computer?

HP Laserjet 5000n and an Epson Photo 2200

Go to the manufacturer websites and download the needed drivers.  If necessary try the Gutenprint and Gimp-Print for Mac OS X (10.2 and later) drivers.

Snow Leopard & Lion Printer solutions and suggestions. should offer other helpful solutions.

In the Systems Preferences>Print Fax window. They said to control-click to get rid of the printers that were there and then use "+" to add the printers. I control-clicked and successfully got rid of the printers that were there, but but now the only one available is Adobe PDF 9.0. Even my Epson is now gone.

You will need to add the HP and the Epson printers.  I don't know which HP folder you trashed.  If it was the driver ones, you may not be able to add the HP until you go to their website and download all the necessary drivers that you need (only if you cannot do it from Software Update & Apple's "download" website).

I made a mistake. I wrote down the OS version on the disk. When I look under "About this MAC I am at 10.6.8.

I am going to proceed with the rest of what you suggested. I will let you know how it goes.
