I purchased my iPhone 5 about a month ago and I am enjoying it but of recent, the screen will turn DARK when making or answering calls but when I pressed the home button it will be normal again. At other times the screen will turn dark, the way it does when the phone is about to go to sleep. Thanks very much.
Do you have a case on the iPhone? It could be blocking the proximity sensor near the speaker on the front of the iPhone.
If you don't have a case on the iPhone, try restarting or restoring the iPhone.
No I don't have a case, the only thing I have is Spigen Tempered glass which I installed yesterday.
Is it certified for use on an iPhone 5? The Gorila Glass formulation of the front was changed to make it thinner and lighter, so adding yet another layer of glass may cause the proximity senso to think you have it glued to the cheek all the time.
If the phone is black, you can see the sensor by shining a strong flashlight to the left of the speaker. There are two things there: the proximity senso and the light sensor the phone uses to adjust screen brightness.
Courcoul I just put in the glass yesterday but the problem has been there for some days now.
Then the sensor may be bad or miscalibrated. You've one year of warranty to make use of now...
