I have an iPhone 5. My data was transferred from a droid. I now have many duplicate contacts. I only need to sync with Outlook. How should I eliminate the dupes?
Can I erase all contacts and then re-sync with outlook?
You can, but that's a waste of time.
How exactly were the contacts put on the device? Were they imported from the SIM card? Synced from a cloud service? Synced from Outlook?
The contacts we moved from my Droid to the iPhone by the Verizon phone store on a machine they use expressly for this purpose.
Then they did something incorrectly.
Confirm in the Contacts app that multiple Groups do not exist, it may be a simple matter of removing a single group.
that was the fix - thanks
