Apple Configurator could not find supervision certificate?

Hello,

I have created a profile on Apple Configurator to be deployed to some iPads. However, when I click prepare, I get an error saying the configurator could not find a supervision certificate. I have no idea what it is talking about. Do I create and / or download this certificate from somewhere? The error comes up regardless of whether I select the iPad to be supervised or not. Maybe its an option in the menu of the configurator app, but I'm not seeing it.

I am testing this with a first gen iPad, so it has iOS 5.1.1. My Macbook is running 10.8.2. Both devices are using the same Apple ID.

Also, I am reading that a supervised iPad will only sync to the Mac that supervises it, and that users cannot connect the iPad to another computer to connect to the iPad's internal storage. Is that true?

iPad, iOS 5.1.1
