Q: I am trying to export a project but the share options are all greyed out. I have multiple compound clips in the timeline - could this be the problem? How can I solve it?  Thanks

I am trying to export a short project from FCPX. All share options are greyed out. I have multiple compound clips in the timeline. I have a feeling this is the problem. Any ideas please.

Thanks

What version are you using? What exactly are you doing? Exporting from the project library? Post a screen shot.

    Thanks Tom.

Version 10.0.07. I think I upgraded half way through the project.

It's a 5 min film. Contains multiple clips with sound syncing from second camera and also multiple sequences turned into compound clips.

    Exporting from project library.

Sorry can't post screen shot right now - at my day-job. (How do you do that anyway)

Tom will pick up the rest, but here's how to take a "screen shot," of either the "entire screen" or portion thereof.

Good luck! (You may also type "screen shot" in your "help" search to get this same text.)

Are you clicking on the Share button on the right end of the Toolbar? If it's empty there, or won't let you click on it, you might need to reinstall the application.

    Thanks Tom.

I discovered that several clips had the camera icon and now understand what this means. Once I clicked "file>import>reimport from camera" and updated those clips the share options all came back.

    Many thanks for your suggestions.
