Security Warning for new Java

I just updated Java for my Mac 10.7.5 running Safari 6.0.2. Now each time I need to use it, I get a Security Warning. Each time I check off "do not show this again for this app", but 10 minutes later the warning is up again. How can I turn it off?

Thanks

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.5)

OK, I wasn't aware of the warning about Java 7, and decided to download 6 and try to uninstall 7. I'm on the Java website now and they still offer 7, update 11. Is it safe or not?

If not, how can I uninstall it?

I think there is some confusion here. Java 7 update 11 patches the problem and should be working with Safari now. What, exactly is this security warning you are getting.

FYI, if you switch back to Java 6 as Cunnia suggests, it won't work with Safari any more. And it's pretty much impossible to uninstall either version of Java.

Thanks to both of you for your information. I learned a lot about Java from these answers. As it turns out, I can use the update now. I just tried it in order to answer the question about the warning message, and got right through without the message. They probably had been swamped with people updating and took a while getting around to taking down the warning everywhere.

Thank you both for your help.
