CD/DVD drives disappeared after installing itunes to windows 7

I have a DVDRAM Device that after installing the latest itunes windows cannot verify the digital signature for the device. I have been directed to this site from gear software site for the solution they claim does exist with Apple itunes driver not meeting windows driver signing requirements. Does anyone know about this problem?
