2 separate instances of Mac Mail on 1 iMac? Possible?

Rather than have 2 different users on my iMac I'd like to set up a separate instance of Mail for my wife.

Is this possible?

Not really, under one account. Mail can of course handle multiple accounts and present them individually. Or install a different app like Thunderbird for your other mail account.

An easier way to accomplish what you want to do is use Mail for one of your accounts, and download and use the free Mozilla email client Thunderbird for the other.
