os 8 outlook offline- online

Hello,

a friend has a Mac (think 1998) which I believe has an OS8. She is suddendly no longer able to download messages in Outlook, the send/ receive tasks go through fine so I was wondering if she might have inadvertently set it offline? Where would I find the "working online/offline" settings?

Is there anything else she could check/ test? I replicated the account on my pc and there is no problem. The e mail setting on the Mac have never been modifyed.
