The option of send in iMessage in iPad mini appears grey in color. Even though I have written a message. Sending the message is not possible. What can be done?

1. Do you have internet access, does Safari bring up a web page?
If you have internet access try this:
- A good old fashioned “restart” might do the trick.
- Settings -> Messages -> iMessage (OFF)
- Turn iMessages on
- A reboot tends to free up memory, help with leaks, etc.
- Hold the power key and slide to power off and simultaneously
- Hold the power button to power on until the Apple icon appears
