I've spent way too much time trying to get icloud mail thru my outlook. combing the internet, message boards, etc. I've tried all the different imap, port settings, SSL, TLS, none, etc. Also tried having the Icloud toolbar once installed automatically set up icloud mail in my outlook. ALL TO No avail. Any ideas?
What version of Windows, and what version of Outlook, please.

Use these settings, follow exactly and take the TLS option where offered.
I've been using those settings: imap.mail.me.com smtp.mail.me.com 993: SSL/ 587 TLS (& SSL & None). I've made progress though, as the only error message I get now is "Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): The connection to the server failed.
My outlooks successfully sends out the test email, as the test email is now being received in my Icloud account.
But is not being successfully sent back to my outlook.
Check your incoming settings carefully, check authentification settings.
Sign out of iCloud mail (in Control Panel) reboot and sign back in.
Logged out. rebooted everything. still same error message:
"Log onto incoming mail server (IMAP): The connection to the server failed.
The test email goes out & is received no problem by Icloud. Since I keep getting the IMAP message, it seems like my SMTP settings are fine & working (587/ TLS). Perhaps the imap server information needs to be tweaked? So far I've tried:
imap.mail.me.com
p01-imap.mail.me.com
p02-imap.mail.me.com
p99-imap.mail.me.com
mail.me.com
Use imap.mail.me.com, ssl on, port 993, use your full icloud email address to login.
Did you do that?
yes. my settings are currently on:
imap.mail.me.com, SSL & 993.
have used my full icloud email address from the get go. My icloud email log-in/address is an @mac.com account. Should that affect at all?
It shouldn't, but you have nothing to lose by trying the 2 alternatives, @me.com and @icloud.com, I would.

I had also tried uninstalling the Icloud bar from outlook, then reinstalled & had it do the outlook setup automatically. Once doing that I notice their settings are a little different which I thought was odd. That didnt work though either. I'm at a loss. Every since I switched from my old mac account & added Icloud into my life my mac emails stopped working in outlook. Any other ideas?
In the iCloud Control Panel (located in the Windows Control Panel), have you signed out ? (which version of the iCloud Control Panel are you using)
yes. I logged out of Icloud from the windows control panel & then logged back in. Same problem. I am using 2.1.1
