unable to backup from ipad1 to ipad2

I have an iPad2 that I want to backup from an ipad1. I have backed up the ipad1 and wish to restore the backup on the ipad2 but it is not available in the list of backups. Only backups available are from the iphone. Any help would be appreciated.
