Samsung SyncMaster 940MW

I have just bought a new SyncMaster 940MW tv/Monitor and a new Mac Mini. They work great together and I have set the monitor at 1440x900, which gives the best quality image, but everytime I restart the Mac or wake it from sleep the monitor size resets and I have to go into the System Preferences and even thought it still says 1440x900, I have to swith to another size then switch back to 1440x900 for the screen to resize and go crisp again.

Why is this happening and is there anything I can do to fix it at one size.

Hi there I've just read your message, though this is of no help whatsoever I just wanted to ask you a couple of questions. I'm looking to replace my emac with a new intel macmini and also the exact same samsung 940MW tv/monitor that you own.
• Have you remedied the resolution problems you've been having?
• How easy to set up with OSX is this monitor? I've looked through the instruction manual off the website it makes no mention of resoultion settings. Is this done on the mac and does the signal fill the screen correctly or does the monitor stretch enlarge or crop the signal automatically?

Thanks sorry i couldn't help.

Have not yet fixed the problem. I have resolved it to a degree by setting a screensaver so my machine does not actually go to sleep and making sure I always swith my montior on before the mac.

Sometimes it still goes flakey but then I just go to the monitor setup in flick back and forth between resolution setting until it fixes itself.

The monitor didn;t take any time to set up. I just plugged the mac into it and turned the mac on.

Hope this helps.
