How do I preserve and export my Safari browsing history?

I need to keep track of how many times I visit a particular web site. Ideally, I would like to be able to preserve my browsing history in Safari for an extended period of time (several months), and then export the history data (site visited, date visited) to spreadsheet, txt file, or something comparable. Is this even possible?
