Q: apple tv mirroring

hey guys, i have a 3rd gen APPLE TV and a early 2011 Macbookpro, when all is set up and ready to go.. i dont get the MIRRORING or AIRPLAY icon on the mac..

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

About AirPlay and Airplay Mirroring

AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). For non-qualifying Macs you can try using Air Parrot.

Thanks to the $15 Beamer, AirPlay streaming is still possible on Macs that do not support Airplay and mirroring.
Another solution is the Air Parrot.

i have both and still doesn't show any icon.. id rather not go the air parrot route till i can figure out why my airplay isn't working.
